Affirmation for the month:
I am calm. I see beyond and through all misunderstandings with Divine clarity.
I am relaxed and peaceful and view everything I see through a filter of love, compassion and joy.
Dr. Pattie Weber
Dear Loved Ones,
It is now officially summer! As I sit and write today, California has been challenged by a flurry of fires that have filled the sky with smoke and haze. As I drove up the hill yesterday from Cameron Park to Placerville, there were no Sierra Mountains in my gaze, no blue sky, no clouds, no sunshine, but instead I could only see a dull gray muck hiding what I knew was there. If I put on my magic muck cutting super hero glasses, I can see through the haze. I can see right through all that mist of misunderstanding and see what truly is there, always there, all the time. Clarity. There IS a blue sky, and the Sierra Mountains do stand tall, and there are beautiful clouds floating by and this too shall pass. There are times of great challenge in all of ourlives that it seems we cannot see through the haze. The haze of sadness, disappointment, confusion, anger. Stuck in the muck of our own misunderstanding. Perceiving a situation through a gray vision, that is the clogged filter of our past. Perhaps we are viewing through old triggers that have not yet dissipated from our consciousness. And we know how clean our filters, don’t we? We clean them gently with contemplation and meditation, affirmations, seeing the good, and by turning on the clear, pure running water of Spirit itself, allowing it to drench us and refresh us and cleanse us…. With hope, and love, and comfort, and endless joyful possibilities.

I Know Divine Mother
When I was a little girl, I would climb as high as I could into a pomegranate tree, take a pomegranate in my hand
and bust it open on the very limb on which I sat. The inside was a gorgeous color.
I would bite into it and taste the sweet and the tart of Divine Mother.
I used to run up into the brilliant, emerald green, rolling hills, where I escaped the madness of the maya.
I would feel the wind blowing so strong that I could let myself fall into it and Divine Mother would hold me up.
As I leaned there embraced by Divine Mother,
She would whisper, “Have faith my child. Have faith, for I am everywhere, loving you, supporting you, and giving to you always.”
When it was time to come down from the hills, I would run and jump onto a big piece of cardboard.
I would go flying down the hills on the wings of love with my dog running as fast as he could behind me,
biting at the cardboard, playing and laughing with me and giving me my own bed time story.
When I used to look into the eyes of my dog, I saw Divine Mother.
She was there in the way that he would stay right beside me and watch me everywhere I went.
She was there in the way he watched every thing I did, listened to everything I said.
All I had to do was motion with my hand, and he would respond to me.
As a little girl, I would look up at the sun and watch as Divine Mother warmed me and comforted me.
She would glow and radiate on me, and she would tell me, “You are powerful. There is nothing you can’t do. I am with you.”
I Know Divine Mother.
Mother is the essence of the sweetness of the wind.
Mother is in the beauty of the flowers.
Mother is in the earth.
She is unconditional.
She is steadfast.
She is powerful.
And she is filled with information that never stops.
She has the ability to be anything and everything at all times.
I can count on her to fill my heart with her love,
and to open up my mind so that Heavenly Father, or truth, can be heard.
I celebrate Divine Mother, for she represents compassion on the deepest level. Every one of us, male and female, have both Divine Mother and Heavenly Father
within us. So as we celebrate Mother’s day this year, let us honor our Mothers, as they truly deserve to be honored, and let us all celebrate Divine Mother within us.
Show compassion. Feel it. Enjoy it. Cherish it. And most of all, give it away, for it is endless and eternal – it is Divine.
In Unconditional Love,
Dr. Kim Clarity
Thank You Art & Wine Family!
Thank you each and everyone, who put their heart into our SCPL Art & Wine Festival. Artisans, Musicians, all the volunteers, donators …. It takes a village to create something so special. Rev. Kim & Rev. Pattie and the SCPL Board of Directors send their heartfelt thank you’s to all of you! SCPL is here because of all your love and dedication!
What Would LOVE Do? Art & Wine Festival 2008 was a fabulous success. On Saturday, June 21st the parking lot surrounding SCPL transformed into a mini-market of talent and creativity. For 8 straight hours, red, white and blue tents filled with art, glass, jewelry and other handcrafted items laid claim to each and every parking space.
Throughout the 101+ temperature day, some of the most wondrous music known to man soothed the souls of buyers, sellers and browsers alike. Amy Fox, Rita, Marci Baruch and even “Dan the Man – Global Citizen” sang songs of enlightenment with such vibrational harmony that many have suggested the name of future Art & Wine events be changed to Art, Music & Wine, or possibly even Music & Art.
Although to parking lot patrons the music appeared to be outside (thanks to a fabulous PA setup – thank you Chris Seri) the candle-lit Sanctuary was indeed the hub for these performances. The food was wonderful: the smells, the colors the diversity, the FLAVORS seemed divinely sent. Even the air conditioner performed as if the Queen herself was in attendance. And perhaps she was.
The Fellowship’s prayers for relief from the sweltering heat that day were answered with periodic breezes – quickly dubbed “Angel Fly-bys”. One such fly-by knocked over a full wall of framed photography in Shari David’s stained glass artist booth. Within seconds the Silent Auction Tent announced an “unexpected sale” on stained glass.
Everything was taken in stride. Perception and intention saw the day through to an unusual closing treatment – a rain dance, led by our very own talented StefaNia.
Sales from 27 Artist/Vendor booths, Wine Cellar admissions and Raffle & Silent Auction tables led to a highly successful What Would LOVE Do? Art & Wine Festival 2008. The immediate result was a whopping $3,500+ credit to SCPL’s coffers. Other, less tangible rewards reported included –
The Art & Wine Committee wishes to thank SCPL for making these experiences possible.
Michael and Mary.
I had the great pleasure of being apart of the art and wine festival. The art was fabulous, the music phenomenal and the wine was wonderful. What filled my heart with joy, was the sense of community and peace in this 100 degree weather in the shade. Everyone continued to smile and do they're best. After all isn't that what we teach and learn at our Center. Imagine our joy when divine mother opened up her skies and graced us with HUGE drops of rain in the o'clock hour. Just when we thought the heat had us beat, there we were dancing in the rain. It has been a long time since I have felt that childhood joy of FREEDOM!!!!!! We did not care about being wet- we just danced. Isn't it time we all remember what is was like when we didn't care- WE JUST DANCED!
Namaste,
StefaNia
Marcy Baruch

Everyone had the great opportunity to hear the very talented Marcy Baruch sing at the June 22 Sunday services. What a blessing! What beauty! Marcy was first introduced to the SCPL family through the annual ANTN Conference, where she performs with Rev. Pattie’s ANTN Band Soul Co-Op. While she visited us here, she gave many private voice lessons to interested fellowship and an awesome workshop following Sunday service. If you missed her performance … it was fantastic to see every song followed by a standing ovation. Marcy greatly complimented the fantastic abilities in Ascension, our SCPL Band, and how excellent they are! Marcy has a tremendous voice, that lilts and flies with incredible versatility and agility. Her great style and artistry is taking her far. Right now she has been signed by a producer and is remixing her CD for national release. Marci will do her best to be back to SCPL in November. Aren’t we grateful we had the opportunity to see her here at SCPL before she is signed by a major label and hits the road?!
